MEET KHAMIS

Your Expert Tour Guide in Zanzibar (Also Known as “Kingo – The King of Languages”).

About Me

Hello! My name is Khamis, but everyone in Zanzibar knows me as Kingo, which means "King of Languages" - and for a good reason!.

I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and of course, Kiswahili, which is my mother tongue. With such a diverse language background, I’m able to comfortably connect with travelers from all around the world and offer them a personalized and enjoyable experience.

I have a Diploma in Language Education from the Institute of Kiswahili and Foreign Languages, and I am proud to have been a licensed tour guide in Zanzibar since 2005. With over 19 years of experience, I have dedicated myself to helping visitors discover the rich history, vibrant culture, and unique charm of our beautiful islands.

My specialty is the Stone Town Tour, which is much more than just a walk through the city. When you tour with me, it’s a journey through time - filled with stories of ancient trade, architecture, Swahili culture, and daily life. I also incorporate an engaging introductory Swahili lesson, so you can feel even more connected with the local culture.

Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple, or a group, my goal is to make your trip to Zanzibar unforgettable, educational, and full of authentic experiences. Let me be your guide to this magical island - and together, we’ll explore the true heart of Zanzibar.
